We're here to inform you that the upcoming APRIL FOOLS DAY REMAKE
is now up for pre-ordering over at Amazon.com. There's two things
about this that amazes us. For one, we thought this movie wasn't
going to be released until last year. Perhaps we're late and missed the
news, but we're also surprised that the movie is going straight to DVD.
We figured Sony would be giving this a wide theatrical release like
most of their other teen friendly horror remakes. Perhaps this a good
thing, but then again most films are successful in stores. For those of
you that don't know, APRIL FOOLS DAY is a remake to the 1986
horror/comedy film released by Paramount Pictures.
The original film was directed by Fred Walton, from the screenplay by
Danilo Bach. The premise to this new version is pretty much the same.
When Muffy decides to invite her drama club to her isolated house for
a "killer" weekend, nobody would have expected it to be taken so
literally. Now the guest list is being trimmed and suspicions turn on
each other. Written and directed by Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores, the
film stars Taylor Cole, Mark D. Headen, David Lowe (VIII), Dave Blamy
and Marjorie Strauss.
