There are a bunch of new DVDs out today, but only a few of them
really stand out from the usual crowd. Up first, we have THE BOSTON
STRANGLER from the Weinstein Company. It's more like their usual
Dimension Extreme releases, and from what we've seen from the group
the movies are really that impressive. From Anchor Bay we have
BRUTAL MASSACRE, the mockumentary about a low-budget production
that in fact becomes a "brutal massacre." From Allumination we have a
special edition for DEATH VALLEY and two new releases called EVIL
BEHIND YOU and PRAY FOR MORNING. From Genius Products we have a
boxed release called MANEATER SERIES COLLECTION Vol. 1.
The set includes the film's BLOOD MONKEY, IN THE SPIDER'S WEB and
MANEATER. Last but not least, from Sony we have three new Blu-ray
releases, and two of them happen to be similar slasher flicks. We have
a blu-ray editions of THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE (which is actually
a pretty good film), URBAN LEGEND and I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST
SUMMER. If you only get to choose one blu-ray this week, we
recommend that you pick up EMILY ROSE. That's your best bet. That
is unless if you don't already have it on DVD.
