It's been a long time coming. I'm curious as to how many of you have
forgotten that this movie even existed. We haven't heard about it for quite
sometime, and if you ask me I think it's an underrated movie. With this
announcement, I'm actually glad that we get to see it again on store
shelves. Universal Home Video has announced a long overdue 2-disc
director's cut (two hours and thirty one minutes) of BROTHERHOOD OF THE
WOLF (LE PACTE DES LOUPS) which stars Samuel Le Bihan, Vincent Cassel,
Émilie Dequenne, and Monica Bellucci. In 18th century France, the
Chevalier de Fronsac and his native American friend Mani are sent by the
King to the Gevaudan province to investigate the killings of hundreds by a
mysterious beast.
The 2001 Christophe Gans directed film will be available (finally) to own on
August 26, and should retail at around $19.98. The film itself will be
presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby
Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include deleted scenes, a behind the
scenes documentary, production notes, storyboards and the trailer. You
can pre-order the DVD over at Amazon. Here's a look at the cover art:
