HF: What is your favorite horror film?

TG: I've got soft spots for the original Evil Dead, Tenebrae, Hell House, and
Lamberto Bava’s Demoni… but I could never choose a favorite. There’s just too
much greatness out there.

HF: This is true there are so many greats. So lets get down to your newest to be
seen by all. Barricade. This film is taking us an adventure through something that
has always scared me as a child, the woods.  Growing up, there was this place
called Thumb Butte, and people used to tell me that there were strange people
who lived out there and to never go out at night…

Well being who I am I did, and ended up scaring myself half to death and running
for my life through shrubbery and getting hurt. To this day I still think someone
was chasing me. From what I have seen, looks like were going to go to hell and
back with the cast. Cannibalistic families in the woods! I can’t wait.

TG: Neither can I!

HF: You are working with Timo Rose, (Mutation 1,2,3, Lord of the Undead, Rigor
Mortis) can you tell me how you met him and collaborated on this project?

TG: I met Timo while I was doing pre-production on Demonium in Germany in
2001. He needed an American to appear in his film, Mutation 2... I am American.
It worked out quite well. We've remained friends ever since.

HF: He currently lives in Germany. Is it difficult to work together with so much
distance between you?

TG: With some filmmakers, it can be, but the long-distance working relationship
Timo and I have suits us both very well. We are in contact several times a day.
Its like we practically live together!

HF: Timo has writing credits on this. Did you complete this or work together on it?

TG: Timo wrote the first draft of the script and I polished it. Then Timo took
another crack at it. After a few passes back and forth, we had something that we
were both very happy with.

HF: There is a fun cast for this film. Were you involved with the casting process?

TG: I suggested Joe Zaso, as I have been friends with him since 2000. Raine
came in, almost at the last moment, and really brought a lot of life into her role. I
was very happy she was hired, as I'd been wanting to work on a project with her
for a very long time. The rest of the cast were all regulars from Timo's previous
films.

HF: How much did you actually get to be apart of for the film?  Did you go to the
set? Locations?

TG: While they toiled on the set of Barricade, I was in Las Vegas. Given our
miniscule budget, I felt it was better to take the money for my flight and lodging
and put it into the film. It truly was for the best, as I believe that every dollar
made a major difference on Barricade. Although I was not on-set for this movie,
I'll be a more active part of Timo's next feature.

HF: How nice of you to give your last dollar to speak for Barricade. That  is really
giving all you got.  I’m sure it will all pay off in the end. You have gotten
distribution for your film from Cinema Image Productions. Can you give me a
release date?

TG: February 23, 2007, and the ONLY way to see the uncut version of the film is
to order it at www.cinemaimages.net. It will not be in stores.

HF: You have this film as a R  rating, did you have a hard time cutting out scenes
or did the MPAA get a hold of it?

TG: We actually have yet to deal with the MPAA. The limited Edition version has
every single gory moment still intact.. but any future R-rated version will probably
get a massive axe. There are a few scenes involving mutilation that are REALLY
extreme and will definitely elicit some pretty strong responses from the MPAA.

HF: Speaking of death scenes, which is your favorite in Barricade?

TG: There are a few I really like. There’s a scene that has SOOO much blood, It
actually makes me laugh manically every time I see it. Its totally a “You’ve got to
be kidding me!” moment. There’s also a fantastic throat slashing with very
realistic arterial spray and a scene where a woman is mutilated in the nastiest of
way- which I really shouldn't reveal.

HF: Yes, we will just keep this spoiler free. Better for the audience. I hope that it
all works out for you, this is a very exciting time, and release is just around the
corner.

TG: Yup. I’m psyched too! I wish we could release it sooner, but we’re at the
mercy of the pressing planet now. Hopefully everyone who pre-orders it through
www.cinemaimages.net will be getting theirs well before the release date, though.

HF: So, what is next for you? You spoke of working again with Timo?

TG: Yeah, I've actually got a pretty busy schedule for 2007. I’ll be working on a
new project with Timo, I’m producing a new slasher film entitled 100 TEARS, my
last team-up with Andreas Schnnaas is finally being filmed, and…I’m hoping for
more.

HF: Sounds like your moving right along. We look forward to catching the film,
and hopefully the fans will pick up the unrated version. Ted, tell me two things
nobody knows about you?

TG: Lets see… I’m addicted to cartoons (Spongebob, The Simpsons, Futurama
etc..) I could watch them all day long- and would kill to write the episode where
Squarepants finally comes out of the closet. And the second, The first time I ever
appeared in, I played a teenage sociopath who stabs a pregnant woman and
eventually becomes a cult leader.

HF: That’s some interesting info. You're truly unique, and I had fun doing this
interview. Thanks for you time and sharing some great stories with us here at HF,
You're great, and I hope to catch up with you again in the future to talk about
more projects.
The End!
