Review:
Holy sweet Jesus, what in the world did I just watch? Have you ever seen
something so ridiculous and over the top that you question yourself as to
why you watched it in the first place? Apparently I'm going through that
process right now. I had no idea what to expect folks, usually when I'm
getting ready to watch a movie I make sure to read info on it first to know
what to expect. Sadly I never really got to look up information before
watching Dream Reaper. I've never seen anything so ridiculously funny
coming from an independent horror movie. Words cant really describe how I
felt after watching this. Dream Reaper has to be one of the weirdest and
most random comedies I have ever seen. If I could sum it all up in one word
it would have to be silly. That's it, silly. That one word could make up this
entire review. But that's just no fun is it? What's the point of writing a review
if you can just use one word? So I'll use this precious time to explain just
how silly Dream Reaper is.
In the movie we follow a metal band called Dream Reaper. Dream Reaper, like
many other bands are having problems. Bassist Dick Gibson and front man
Willy Nutsack have begun to disagree about the direction of the band. Willy
wants to play epic fantasy metal, singing songs about magic and the lock
ness monster while Dick wants to be an emo band and sing about the finer
things in life. Sadly the band will be having to face even have bigger
problems. As the band falls asleep they each begin to dream about some
mysterious force who is dressed in a Halloween costume. The mysterious
force is killing off the band mates one by one. Will Dream Reaper be able to
figure out who or what is destroying their precious band before it's too late?
Only time will tell and it's up to Willy to stop this evil threat before it ruins the
band and prevents them from making their dreams come true.
Man where do I begin? This is just way too funny. Dream Reaper is one of
those movies that were made to be silly. Yes ladies and gentlemen it was
made that way on purpose. You can tell from the acting and the dialog that
the cast and crew were just having a ball making this. The entire movie is like
one giant cartoon with a lot of laughs and ridiculously funny scenes. The
characters are goofy, the dialog is funny and the overall cheese factor makes
it the perfect film to watch when you're either waisted or with a group of
friends. You can use this movie for a good social (drunken) gathering.
Watching this alone just isn't going to cut it. If you do decide to watch
Dream Reaper I highly suggest calling up a group of your friends. Have them
sit with you and be sure to keep a beer cooler handy. I'm sure that you will all
have a wonderful time if you fallow those easy to remember steps. The movie
features some good music and clever acting. It was made to be silly and it's
very obvious from the start. There is no way in hell that you can ever take
Dream Reaper seriously. It's the perfect movie if you're looking for something
fun and interesting to watch.
You just may laugh when I say this but as I mentioned earlier the main
character in the movie is named Willy Nutsack. I kid you not, thats his name.
He's the lead singer of a metal band called Dream Reaper. Willy is the silliest
character in the picture. Have you ever seen a grown man take a huge bowl
of cereal and stick it in the microwave, and eat it while watching TV? My guess
is that you probably haven't. Theres something original here folks, or at least
I think. Believe it or not (and I hope I don't ruin too much for you guys by
saying this) there are a lot of masturbation scenes in this movie. You know
what? Now that I think about it EVERY character in the movie has a
masturbation scene. What more could you ever ask for? Perhaps its just me
but I find things like that to be really entertaining. Maybe I'm easily amused,
as silly as Dream Reaper was I enjoyed it. I thought it was very funny and
random. I love the randomness in comedies, that stuff makes me laugh the
most. If you want to see something different and ridiculous then please feel
free to check this out. Not everyone will like it but hey it doesn't hurt to try
right?
