Review:

I've been wanting to see this movie for sometime now, and now that I got
a chance to see it, I must say that this movie left me in a bad mood. I
watched this movie not knowing what to expect really since this movie has
had pretty bad reviews, and now I could see why it did. I was pretty
disappointed with the end result. Sure this movie does have its moments,
but that’s not enough to save the whole movie. The story to the movie is
pretty simple, a married couple are left alone when their 8 year old son dies
from an apparent accident. Before the funeral, the young couple are
stopped by a doctor who claims that he can bring their 8 year old son
back, by making an exact duplicate. In other words, "cloning". The parents
then decide to go on with the procedure, and they are blessed with
another child. 8 years later, the cloned child begins to act strange. The
child begins to have weird nightmares about someone else.

The movie starts off pretty good, about 1/4 of the movie is based on
drama, and yes the movie is pretty dramatic near the beginning. The acting
in the movie really convinced me so I definitely liked that a lot. But other
than the drama, the movie also has some creepy moments. Moments
where the 8 year old boy has these weird nightmares. I got to admit, some
of those moments actually got to me, and it crept me out. I thought that
was pretty cool, and it did set the mood of the movie. But that’s enough
about the ups, now lets get to the disappointing downs. One of the main
problems I had with this movie was that it was pretty slow paced. I’m sorry
but with the slow pace it seemed like some parts of the scenes were pretty
unnecessary. Not to mention that for a horror movie I expected to see
more of the blood and stuff, but with a PG-13 rating I guess it was pretty
impossible. It felt like I was watching a dramatic thriller. It seems like
whenever something bad happens, it cuts off to a point where you don’t
get to see any of the good stuff, which was pretty shameful to me.
Another thing that really bothered me was the fact that the movie is very
predictable.

After about half of the movie was done, I already guessed what the "twist"
in the movie would be. And yes I guessed right. This movie is very
predictable. So if you ever get to see this movie, don’t spend your time
guessing because you’re probably going to get it in a few guesses
anyways. But the absolute WORST thing about this movie has to be the
ending. Oh my god I hated the ending, I thought it was very stupid. The
movie would have been better if the ending was re-shot, because the
ending that they put in this movie is just totally lame. Well that’s all I have
to say about this movie. Aside from the acting and the creepy moments,
this movie is very disappointing. The movie is slow, the PG-13 rating really
cuts out, and the ending was the worst. With an original kind of story, this
movie had a lot of potential. If this movie would have been done right, it
probably would have been considered "a future cult classic". But really this
movie is far from that. I was very disappointed. If you feel like watching this
I suggest that you rent it. Godsend is a decent movie, but really
disappointing. Don't expect too much from it because you may end up
getting nothing in the end.
