Story: A man is tormented by a severed hand.

Review:

I've seen a lot of short independent horror films. While most are pretty
straight forward or just too ridiculous, there are some that stand out to me.
Sometime ago I got to check out an independent horror short called Scream
Like A Girl. From the sound of the title and the look of the poster I knew that
I was in for something fun, enjoyable and different. In Scream Like A Girl we
fallow this character who is known as the hoodlum. We fallow this Hoodlum
character as he drives back home. Along the way he notices a guy walking
and for the fun of hit he runs the guy over causing him to die. When the
hoodlum goes back home he notices that the guys hand is caught in the
front of his car. So he takes the hand, goes inside the house and throws the
hand in the garbage. Soon after that the hoodlum decides to rest and falls
asleep on the couch with a magazine on his lap.

The man hears a strange noise and then he wakes up. If you haven't
guessed already the mans hand has strangely come to life and is tormenting
the hoodlum. The plot to the movie is very interesting. I liked the whole idea
of running a guy over only to be haunted by his moving alive hand. What I
would like to point out is that it's a basic short film. There isn't anything else
to the plot, it's straight forward and if I can recall there is no dialog. The film
was shot in black and white and it kind of gives you that old school feeling,
especially with the car and the clothes these characters wear. The whole
movie is pretty much about a guy being haunted by a severed hand that
hides in the house.

I thought the concept was cool and the way it was filmed was pretty clever.
You can't go far with a budget like this but there are ways you can pull off
what you want without having to spend wads of cash. Although I did like the
concept and plot it just doesn't really go anywhere from there. The film is
pretty much a short comedy and just from reading the title you know what
to expect later on in the picture. The acting is fair, the looks and the laughs
are good, but other than that it's pretty dull. There could have been much
more to it but things are pretty limited when you're watching a really short
film.
