UPDATES

Well, this is very interesting. We just received word that Sid Haig is no longer attached to
BUBBA THE REDNECK WEREWOLF. Sid's publicist (and fiancee) posted up a blog on
Myspace stating that he's no longer attached to the project-
"I am afraid I have some very sad news to report. I was hoping for something good to
post to update you fine folks on the Bubba film project you've been so patiently waiting
for, but alas, this is not the case. This morning, via email, Bubba's creator Mitch Hyman,
"revoked the letter of intent" he had drawn up for Sid Haig to play Bubba and direct the
film. This revocation effectively "fires" Haig from the film. I do not know the reason for
this revocation, as there was none given in said email. All I can report on is what I have
written in front of me, not hearsay, so I will not even speculate on the reason behind this
sad, and very surprising, sudden change in plans.
This has hit us out of left field, and neither Sid nor myself really know what to do at this
point. My emailed requests for an explanation regarding this have not been responded to
as of the timestamp on this post. Again, I am not at all pleased to have this to report to
you, the fans. I had been waiting to write another press release for this film until I had
something concrete to say, as opposed to speculation and "good intentions". This is most
assuredly NOT what I had in mind. Sid and I wish Mitch and the team much luck in their
efforts."
-We don't know what to say about this..... Great, that just sucks.

The folks over at Blood-Digusting reported that Sid Haig is going to start and direct a
movie called BUBBA THE REDNECK WEREWOLF. The film will be based on the comic book
series with the same name. Sid tells B-D that pre-production should begin next month in
Orlando, FL. Bubba's creator, Mitch Hyman, is writing the script and the special effects
makeup will be done by Barry Anderson, who worked on Land of the Dead as well as
creating the sculpture for all of the Ripley's Believe It or Not museums. Apparently even
with the werewolf makeup, Mr. Haig's features will still be obvious. You can find more info
over at the BUBBA Myspace Page.
