We received word on an upcoming independent short called PARAMNESIA. Awarded "Best
Special Effects" for the 48 hour film festival with the short horror film. PARAMNESIA also
won first place with honorable mentions at the PMF short film festival. For our new
coverage we also posted some behind the scenes pictures which come directly from the
UYL Productions Myspace page. Director Derek Bensonhaver gave us info about the making
of which was a part of the New Mexico chapter's 48 hour film festival:
"Filmmakers had 48 hours to pick a genre out of a hat, receive info that HAD to be
included in the film (character name -linda or larry martinez, character occupation or
quirk - packrat, prop- a bell, and a line of dialogue - "would you like to come up to my
place?"), Derek tells Horror-Fanatics. "After that we had to write, cast, film, edit and turn
incompletely original (including film score) short film, minimum of 4minutes, max 7 (plus
60 sec. for end credits on top). We drew horror,and wrote up a short script for a film
that bases off of a character that dies and is slowly realizing the world around her is not
what it seems and she slowly realizes what happened to her. Its almost atrial before the
afterlife since she was murdered."
